STEPHEN MINISTERS ARE READY TO CARE...
Zion is a Stephen Ministry Congregation. Stephen Ministry equips lay people to provide confidential, one-to-one Christian care to individuals in our congregation and the community who are experiencing difficulties in their lives.
Did you know that Zion is one of more thn 10,000 Stephen Ministry congregations--from more than 100 denominations--worldwide.
A Stephen Minister is...
- A child of God who walks beside a person who is hurting.
- A congregation member with gifts for caregiving, who was carefully selected to serve in this role.
- A lay person who has received 50 hours of training in providing emotional and spiritual care.
- A caring, Chritian friend who listens, cares, prays, supports and encourages.
- Someone who will "be there" for his or her care receiver, meeting faithfully for about an hour each week, for as long as there is a need.
There are times when every one of us experiences difficulties, such as the loss of a loved one, spiritual crisis, cancer, hospitalization, divorce, job loss, loneliness, etc. God never intended for us to go through these experiences alone. That's why God has brought us together as a congregation, and why we have Stephen Ministry. Stephen Ministers can bring God's warm love back into your life. They provide confidential, one-to-one Christian care. They will meet with you privately on a weekly basis to listen, support and encourage you. They will pray with you and for you and walk with you for the duration of your crisis. Our Stephen Ministers are ready to care for you!
Our congregation's Stephen Ministry equips lay people to provide confidential, one-to-one Christian care to individuals in our congregation and community who are experiencing difficulties in their lives. They will listen, care, encourage and pray with and for you. Male Stepen Ministers are always matched with men and female Stephen Ministers are matched with women. If you or someone you know is hurting, please prayerfully consider a Stephen Minister. Stephen Ministers are there to care!
